Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why should I have my carpets cleaned?
Answer:  The life of your carpet can be greatly extended by simple routine professional cleaning.  You can maintain the original look and luster of your carpet with regularly scheduled cleanings.

2. Should I vacuum before the technician arrives?
Answer:  Yes, vacuuming is essential to the longevity of your carpet. You should vacuum your carpet as often as  possible.

3. Do you move furniture?
Answer:  Yes, when necessary, we will  move and replace small furniture in its original position.  Larger items (beds, filing cabinets, bookshelves, etc.) may require additional time and charges.

4. What should I do to prepare for my carpets to be cleaned?
Answer:
You should move smaller items and breakables from the carpeted areas.

5. How long will it take for my carpet to dry?
Answer:
Drying times vary depending on weather conditions, humidity, and airflow.  Typically, dry times range between 2 to 6 hours.

6. How long before I can walk on my carpet?
Answer:
You can walk on your carpet immediately but it is recommended that you limit traffic until the carpet is completely dry.

7. Will all the stains be removed after cleaning?
Answer:
Some stains can not be removed with the normal cleaning process.  We have the best spotting agents and stain removers in the industry to remove those difficult stains.  These stains - furniture stains, etc. can be repaired (see carpet repair in the services drop down list).

8.  Should I have a fabric protector applied after cleaning?
Answer:
Surprisingly, no.  Most companies will highly recommend this process after cleaning.  We have found that it will make future cleanings (for us) a bit easier, but is not worth the money we have to charge.  This is a money maker for most companies, a dishonest practice as far as we are concerned.

9. Which provides better indoor air quality: hardwood or carpet?
Answer:
Carpet actually acts like a filter trapping pollutants which are then removed by professional carpet cleaning.  As long as a regular cleaning schedule is maintained, carpet provides much better indoor air quality than hardwood.
